Dr. Mahmood Al-Sultan

Dr. Mahmood Al-Sultan has been a dedicated veterinarian at Beattie Pet Hospital Burlington since 2021. With a lifelong passion for animals and a deep commitment to their health and well-being, he finds great fulfillment in providing high-quality veterinary care.

Dr. Al-Sultan earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Mosul in 1990, followed by a master’s degree (MSc) from the same institution. He later completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Kazan, specializing in Theriogenology, a field focused on reproductive medicine and fertility management. While he no longer practices this specialty, his background in advanced reproductive techniques, including artificial insemination and embryo transfer, has enriched his approach to veterinary medicine.

At Beattie Pet Hospital, Dr. Al-Sultan is known for his proactive, preventive approach to pet care. He values educating pet owners, ensuring they feel informed and confident about their pet’s health. Building long-term relationships based on trust is a cornerstone of his practice, and he strives to provide personalized, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

One of the most rewarding aspects of his career is witnessing the recovery and well-being of his patients. Whether diagnosing an illness, handling an emergency, or simply guiding pet owners through routine care, he finds great joy in making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Al-Sultan enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and swimming. He also has a passion for reading, particularly books on history and politics. At home, he shares his life with his beloved two-year-old tabby cat, Mishmish.
