Joannie has been a valued member of the Beattie Pet Hospital Burlington team since 2020. With a lifelong love for animals and nature, she knew she wanted to build a career doing something she was truly passionate about—so that it would never feel like work. That passion led her to graduate from Collège Lionel-Groulx in Québec in 2009, and she has been dedicated to veterinary care ever since. 

Joannie’s favorite part of her role is getting to know each animal’s unique personality and reading their body language to understand how best to care for them. She also loves educating clients, helping them feel empowered, confident, and supported in their pet’s care journey. 

With a special interest in nutrition and weight management, Joannie enjoys working with pets and their owners to create healthier lifestyles that improve quality of life. Her approach to pet care is grounded in patience, clear communication, and compassion— taking the time to answer questions and explain each step builds strong, trusting relationships. 

For Joannie, the most rewarding moments are when she knows she’s made a difference— whether it’s relieving a pet’s pain, reducing a client’s stress, or helping a new puppy settle in comfortably. 

Outside of work, Joannie loves spending time outdoors. She enjoys horseback riding, hiking with her dog and baby, rollerblading, and simply being in nature. Her home is shared with Growlithe, a 4-year-old Blue Heeler, and two 16-year-old ginger cats, Richard and Râtho.
