Melissa joined the Beattie Burlington team back in 2019. She graduated from Dalhousie University in 2017 with her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Animal Science; and is currently enrolled at Thompson Rivers University in their Veterinary Technology OL program. Melissa has always had a passion for working with animals, so continuing to expand her knowledge and skills in a field that she loves seemed like the natural next steps.

One of her favourite things about veterinary medicine is the fact that every day is something different, and getting to make a difference for those who walk through the clinic doors (both 4-legged, 2-legged, and all those in between) is what makes it all worthwhile. 

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys snowboarding, playing soccer and field hockey, playing video games, and going for hikes with her 2 pups. Melissa is the proud dog mom to a Bernese Mountain Dog named Maggie, and a Border Collie x Husky mix named Bailey. She also has 2 fluffy feline companions living at home named Lilo and Milo. So it's definitely a full house, but she wouldn't have it any other way!
