Assistant

Roy

Roy joined Beattie Pet Hospital Burlington in 2023, bringing with him a deep passion for animal care that began during his high school co-op placement here. His love for animals and interest in veterinary medicine grew from there, leading him to focus on helping both patients and their owners have a positive, informative experience.

Roy is particularly skilled at working with aggressive patients, helping them feel less stressed while still receiving the treatment they need. He has a strong interest in animal behaviour and surgical cases and strives to make each visit as efficient and effective as possible by setting clear expectations and providing consistent care. His empathetic approach ensures that both pets and clients feel supported throughout the process.

The most rewarding part of Roy's work is being able to help pets in high-stress situations, turning those stressful moments into positive experiences. He loves seeing a patient come in feeling unwell and leaving in a much better state, knowing that he’s played a part in their recovery.

Outside of work, Roy enjoys a variety of hobbies including hiking, dog training, climbing, and MMA/boxing. He also has a deep love for aquariums and terrariums. Roy shares his home with his beloved animals: Pelusa, a 14-year-old poodle-bichon mix; Onyx, a 4-year-old Dalmatian-Border CollieHusky mix; Kyroh, a 2-year-old Presa Canario; Gojirin, a 1-year-old crocodile skink; and a variety of fish.
